JICA Alumni Holds Multi Service Health Camp In Dimbulagala

JICA Sri Lanka Alumni Association conducted a multi Service Health Camp in collaboration with JICA Sri Lanka office on 25th October 2014. An eye clinic, Ear Norse & Throat (ENT) and diabetic clinics were held at the Kasyapa Vidyalaya in Dimbulagala.

During the camp, 900 calibrated spectacles were issued to people in need. A further 60 patients needing cataract operations were given free foldable Intraocular lenses and patients with hearing deficiencies were gifted with hearing aids. Both sets of these patients were then referred to the Pollonaruwa Hospital for follow up surgery and fitting of the hearing aids.

The dental clinic treated 75 school children and more than 300 patients were treated at the Diabetic clinic. To commemorate the event 2 scholarships were awarded to 2 deserving students.

The Hon: Minister of Health Maithripala Sirisena, The Japanese Ambassador H.E. Nobuhito Hobo and Madam Tomomi Hobo and the Chief Representative of JICA Mr. Kiyoshi Amada attended the ceremonial opening.
