In an interview with Asian Mirror, Lanka who is born and studied in Anuradhapura and shaped by the theatre, discussed on how a young, new female short film maker emerged through issues and voyaged with the new short film with a broad social reading.

It is such a shame that Sri Lanka has no short movie data base, she emphasized. Lanka further added that there should be a proper forum to gather such work.
