Asoka Handagama's Movie 'Age Esa Aga' (Let Her Cry) To Be Released To Theatres On May 13

Director and Writer Asoka Handagama’s latest film ‘Let Her Cry – Ege Esa Aga’ is to be released to the theatres in 13th May.

Various opinions have expressed regarding the upcoming film, suggesting that the director must be mentally unstable to produce such a script.

However, Handagama replied to criticisms saying that every person is mentally unstable, and most of them cannot visualize their ‘mental instability’.

“Cinema is visualizing your ‘mental instability’. I express my views of the society through my films. I do that not because I hate the society but love it unconditionally. Some people cannot tolerate my films because they shock the viewer”, Handagama expressed his view on the matter.

“I have not sold women in this film to market it. When considering the theme of this film, it addresses women. Not just women, but women who takes care of families. But most of the time, our society fears the female body”, the director said.

Handagama also stated that the film is not an ‘adults-only’ production. However, it is most suitable for adults since the theme of the film is not relevant for children, he added.
