Sri Pada or Adam's Peak is one of the foremost sacred places for Buddhists as it contains "sacred footprint". Further,  it is important as a watershed and remarkable bio diversity. 

Ecologically enriched Sri Pada summit has been threatened by human and environmental factors time to time. 

Paste few days pictures of some people clearing up land in Sri Pada area surfaced. It is rumored that the said land is bought by a company linked to Etisalat, popular telecommunication company which belongs to a Middle Eastern owner.

It was claimed the land was sold by a minister of last regime and now supported by a minister from the incumbent government.

A roar spread regarding the issue and social media reacted quickly.
