Supreme Court Terminates Golden Key Case Proceedings

The Supreme Court today gave approval to the government’s plan of paying back 41 percent of the deposits of the Golden Key Company, terminating the case proceedings after six years.

All parties, including the depositors and the company agreed to the settlement proposed by the government recently.

Therefore, three Fundamental Rights petitions filed by depositors were terminated by the Supreme Court.

A ceremony to hand over money to Golden Key depositors was held recently under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena.
