Sihala Ravaya Lodges First Complaint At Police Religious Affairs Unit

In less than one hour after a special Police unit was opened to look into matters concerning religions, Sihala Ravaya lodged a complaint at the unit saying Police are dragging feet over three complaints made by the organization. 

Akmeemana Dayarathana Thera, a strongman of Sihala Ravaya said, the three complaints were on insults to Buddhism. He also stated that Police did not take appropriate action against perpetrators. 

The special Police unit for religious matters was set up under the directives of President Mahinda Rajapaksa and the body will work together with the Ministry of Law and Order as as well with the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
