Sri Lankan Arrested In Chennai For Spying For Pakistan Intelligence Agency

The ‘Q’ Branch CID of the Tamil Nadu Police  have arrested a Sri Lankan national, suspected to be an agent of an ISI - Pakistan's powerful military spy agency.

Tamil Nadu Police arrested him yesterday (29) and seized photographs of vital installations and counterfeit currency from him.

According to sources in the police, Sakir Hussain was suspected to be an operating on the instructions of an ISI agent based in Colombo, Indian newspapers reported today. 

“He was planning to sabotage many important structures in Chennai, including the US consulate. He was planning attacks in other parts of the country,” a Tamil Nadu police officer told media after the arrest.  A case has been registered under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, and IPC.
