A group of journalist who went to Hambanthota to cover the World Conference on Youth faced immense difficulties due to delays in issuing media passes. The journalists who did not have passes were not allowed to enter the Conference Centre and it was the responsibility of the Ministry officials to issue media passes on time. Several foreign journalists were also among the scribes who were denied of access to WCY.
