Agalawatte Plantation Workers Commence Strike

February 05, 2016

Officers working for Agalawatte Plantation Company has commenced a strike action against company failing to make EPF payments to the Central Bank as scheduled.

Factory administration had been completely disrupted since nearly 200 officers had joined the strike, plantation workers reported. None of the officers were present to supervise plantation workers and factory workers, they complained.

However, Agalawatte Plantations Company says that crisis arose as a result of lower prices of rubber and tea in World Market.
