Ranil Back On Sirasa!

After a hiatus of nearly five years, Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe has appeared on a TV show produced by Sirasa TV.

Wickremesinghe came under severe criticism from Sirasa over the last five years over his conduct as the leader of the United National Party. Sirasa backed UNP dissidents who were of the view that Parliamentarian Sajith Premadasa should be appointed as the leader of the United National Party, replacing Ranil Wickremesinghe who failed to secure any significant victory after the General Election in 2001.

Wickremesinghe also accused Sirasa TV and its owner for attempting to destabilize the party.

However, multiple sources confirmed Asian Mirror that Wickremesinghe and Chairman of the Capital Maharaja Organization R. Rajamahendran are back in good terms. Wickremesinghe also participated in a Vesak ceremony organized by Sirasa, upon an invitation from the Capital Maharaja Organization.

'Muhunata Muhuna' programme, in which Wickremesinghe appeared, would be aired on Sirasa on June 26 at 9 pm. In the programme, the opposition leader has shared his viewpoints on a wide range of issues such as the victory of war, economy and international challenges that have emerged against Sri Lanka.
