JHU Lashes Out At Hakeem's "Slanderous" Statement On Buddhist Monks

Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) issued a statement expressing their displeasure over the speech made by Muslim Congress Leader Minister Rauff Hakeem to international media, saying that the government would not be able to prevent an ethnic uprising if they cannot control the hardcore Sinhala-Buddhist organizations' extremist plights.

Speaking to media, Minister Rauff Hakeem said that the government should have a firm grip on Buddhist monks who are spreading extremism and Anti-Muslim ideology among the public or else there would be no preventing of a Muslim uprising in the country.

Hela Urumaya replied by saying that even the great kings of the past had no dominion over the Bhikhu community and what Rauf Hakeem requests is an invasion of Buddhist rights.

JHU also accused Hakeem of shedding crocodile tears in front of International media and making deceitful claims during the Aluthgama violence. Adding to that JHU said " through his indirect threats and slander Rauff Hakeem has proved who the real extremist is"

'We sternly confer that Rauff Hakeem's blank rounds would not shudder the Bhikshu community of Sri Lanka and we realize what Hakeem wants is to get the International Muslim community to back him up', the statement said.

They made a request to the people to decide who the real extremists are and what ulterior motives they have for the country.
