New Initiatives To Protect Children Against Abductions And Abuse

Cabinet of Ministers, approved to launch a national programme to protect children from various threats prevailing.
In a media briefing, Cabinet Spokesperson, Minister Rajitha Senaratne said that according to a proposal made by President Maithripala Sirisena.
It has been decided to implement the ‘Let’s Protect Children’ National Programme within the 3 years of 2017 to 2019.
According to the action plan prepared, children will protected and prevented from abuse/abduction.
The programme will also cover other main areas such as health, nutrition and welfare, and personality development, education and life skills, Minister Senaratne added.
