Schoolgirl Responsible For Night Mail Bomb Scare Released On Bail

An 18-year-old schoolgirl who was arrested earlier today for raising a false alarm of a bomb threat in the Badulla night mail train was released on bail by Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne.

The school girl had called police emergency number 119 and warned of a suspected parcel, which made the police search the train. The train was delayed by more than two hours as a result. The incident took place on December 26.

She was released on two sureties of Rs 200,000 each and was severely warned by the Magistrate.
