Wasim Thajudeen Murder: Former Crime OIC Of Narahenpita Police Granted Bail

Former Crime OIC of the Narahenpita Police, Sumith Perera, who had been in custody for allegedly concealing evidence in the murder of former Rugby Player Wasim Thajudeen, was granted bail by Colombo High Court today.

The decision was announced after his bail application was taken up in court today.

Accordingly, Perera was released on a cash bail of Rs. 100,000 and three sureties of Rs. one million each.

The judge imposed a foreign travel ban and required to surrender his passport.

Further he was ordered the suspect to appear before the CID once every month.
