Ananda-Nalanda-DS Clash: Five More Students Released On Bail

Five students arrested in the aftermath of the clash between Ananda, Nalanda and D. S. Senanayake Colleges'– at the D.S. Senanayake College premises on Wednesday (15), were released on bail yesterday.

Colombo Additional Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake ordered the boys released on a surety bail of Rs. 100, 000.

The five students have allegedly caused damage to two SLTB buses during the fight.

Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake sternly warned them about their behaviour and progress if they were to continue in this disruptive manner.

Borella Police, conducting investigations, told the Colombo Magistrate, they had not yet estimated the damage to the two SLTB buses.

A total of six vehicles were reported damaged in the fight.

Several students were injured and admitted to the Colombo National Hospital in the scuffle on Wednesday. 

Fifteen students were arrested, of whom ten were released on bail on Wednesday.
