Namal Rajapaksa Contempt Of Court Case Thrown Out

The contempt of court case filed against Hambantota district MP Namal Rajapaksa by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption, was terminated by the Supreme Court yesterday.

The case was terminated on the undertaking by MP Rajapaksa he would cooperate with the Bribery Commission investigations against him. Rajapaksa is being investigated for failure to declare assets.

The Bribery Commission brought in charges against MP Rajapaksa for disrespecting the authority of the Commission by failing to appear before the Commission without reasonable cause.
