Sri Lanka Stocks Higher At Close Of Trade; CSE All-Share Up 0.14%

According to Investing.com, Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Plantations, Investment Trust and Banking, Financials & Insurance sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.14%.

The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Nuwara Eliya Hotels Co PLC (CM:NEH), which rose 21.34% or 299.00 points to trade at 1700.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) added 16.67% or 0.100 points to end at 0.700 and Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ) was up 12.90% or 6.50 points to 56.90 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL), which fell 24.68% or 567.20 points to trade at 1731.00 at the close. Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) declined 22.00% or 16.50 points to end at 58.50 and Singer Industries PLC (CM:SINI) was down 19.35% or 28.80 points to 120.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 82 to 62 and 59 ended unchanged.

Shares in Nuwara Eliya Hotels Co PLC (CM:NEH) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 21.34% or 299.00 to 1700.00. Shares in Singer Industries PLC (CM:SINI) fell to 52-week lows; falling 19.35% or 28.80 to 120.00.

Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.34% or 0.72 to $54.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 1.27% or 0.71 to hit $56.55 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.42% or 5.15 to trade at $1238.45 a troy ounce.

GBP/LKR was down 0.67% to 188.660, while USD/LKR fell 0.72% to 151.390.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 101.35.
