The notorious underworld mobster ‘Thel Bala’ alias Karuppaiah Wappu Balan (age 59) has died from complications occurred during a surgical procedure in India.

The corpse was flown to Katunayaka Airport from Chennai around 10.15 pm on Tuesday.

The underworld kingpin escaped to India years back.
