‘Ranil Wickremesinghe’- A political biography compiled by Dinesh Weerakkody was launched at BMICH on Thursday under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena. Religious representatives, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Speaker Karu Jayasuriya, and ministers and MPs participated on this occasion.During his speach Prime Minister stated that , “If you look at Sri Lankan politics today, Game of Thrones is kid’s play and survival has become an art in diplomacy and politics”.
"Only a handful of individuals remain from all those who joined the political arena with me in the 70's. Engaging in politics for many decades is indeed quite a challenging task. I myself have experience much joy, sorrow, highs and lows during my time. However, despite all of this, I think that I have led a successful career as a politician.
Remaining steadfast during times of being in power, as well as the long period spent in the opposition camp, was challenging; yet a challenge which I believe I faced to the best of my capabilities. While I am constantly striving towards achieving a brighter future for Sri Lanka, I would also like to express my gratitude towards Mr. Dinesh Weerakkody and his research team for chronicling my political journey in this manner" further added the four time Prime Minister.
