Meethotamulla Death Toll Climbs To 32: Troops Continue Work

 

The death toll from the Meethotamulla disaster has risen to 32, Police sources confirmed today.

Search for bodies is ongoing at the site of the disaster and more than 1,500 combined forces are on-site combing for the bodies of those missing.

A section of the Meethotamulla garbage dump collapsed on residents on Friday (14), burying about 150 homes.

The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has declared the Meethotamulla area a danger zone and warned residents of over 150 homes to evacuate from the area.
