Namal Accuses Government Of Not Acting Fast Enough On Meethotamulla Garbage Issue

The government waited till the Meethotamulla garbage dump collapsed to take action on it, Hamabanthota MP Namal Rajapaksa said.

“We set aside money in the 2014 Budget to solve the garbage problem in Sri Lanka. It is this government that stopped those plans,” he said.

“These people sold the Meethotamulla garbage problem to get into parliament – where are they now?, he asked.

“They have even stopped people from protesting against the dumping if garbage in their areas – is this democracy,” the Hambanthota MP further asked.
