Police have obtained CCTV footage of the unidentified group who followed BASL President Upul Jayasuriya in motor bikes.

Jayasuriya lodged two police complaints on two occasions claiming unidentified groups followed his vehicle posing a threat to his personal security.

According to the details provided by Jayasuriya, the Colombo Crime Division (CCD) has now obtained footage from CCTV cameras that are fixed along the route.

The CCD has also noticed another person who speaks to motor cyclists who followed the BASL president minutes before the incident.

The BASL president said unidentified motor cyclists started following just a few days after the Sri Lanka Bar Association issued a statement against the ban imposed by the government on non-governmental organizations operating in Sri Lanka.

However, the Police is yet to make an arrest in connection with the incident. After the complaint, the BASL president has also urged Police to ensure his personal security.
