SriLankan Management Before Cabinet Today: Urgent Resurrection Plan Needed

The management of SriLankan Airlines has been summoned before the Cabinet.

Highly placed sources of the government added that the board of directors of SriLankan Airlines, including its Chairman Ajith Dias and CEO Suren Ratwatte will appear before the cabinet this morning.

The Cabinet will discuss a resurrection plan for the debt-ridden national carrier.

Senior members of the government have claimed that SriLankan Airlines, which was taken over by the government by the previous regime, is heavily over-staffed.

At the Cabinet meeting last week, the subject minister of SriLankan Airlines, State Enterprise Minister Kabir Hashim criticised the conduct of the company's management.
