Dayasiri Asks For Report On Cricket Managers In The Wake Of Charlie Austin Controversy

Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera has asked for a report from the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on personal managers hired by national cricketers.

The move comes in the wake of the controversy around Charlie Austin, a British national working as a personal manger for several Sri Lankan cricketers.

It has now been revealed that there are nearly five personal managers working with national cricketers, handling their personal contracts, publicity and financial affairs.

Some cricketers of the Sri Lanka A team have already hired personal managers, SLC sources said. They further added that an international cricket commentator, a Sri Lankan, is also involved in the business.

It is learnt that the Sports Minister will work with the SLC on streamlining the current process, after the cricket board submits its report .
