Former SAITM Vice Chancellor Facing Arrest Over Missing Body Parts Of Thajudeen

The Colombo High Court was informed by the Attorney General's Department today that former Colombo Chief JMO Ananda Samarasekera might be arrested over the loss of body parts of the slain rugby player, Wasim Thajudeen.

The lawyers representing the Attorney General's Department  made this observation in court this morning when a revision application filed by Prof. Samarasekara was taken up before the Colombo High Court.

The Sri Lanka Medical Council has already suspended Colombo Chief JMO Prof. Ananda Samarasekara for six months over the same issue.

Accordingly, SLMC membership of Samarasekara has also been canceled for six months.

The SLMC announced the decision after Samarasekara found guilty with respect to a probe conducted by the SLMC on the missing body parts of  Thajudeen.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had earlier informed the Colombo High Court that the missing body parts of the rugby player were taken to the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) by Samarasekara.
