Army Continues To Offer Assistance To Dengue Eradication

More than 300 troops of the 58 Division, 141 and 142 Brigades as well as 12 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) of the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) continue their Dengue eradication programme in Maharagama, Kolonnawa, Kaduwela, Piliyandala, Negombo, Kelaniya, Attanagalla, Biyagama, Panadura, Kesbewa, Maviththara, Delthara and Divulapitiya areas.

Organized by the SFHQ-West as part of the ongoing national drive to eradicate Dengue, the programme is supported by members of the tri-services, Civil Security Department, Health Officials and Government Sector employees. It formally began early in July and will continue throughout the month with the sole objective of eradicating the epidemic.     

Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Forces - West closely supervises the project according to instructions given by Ministry of Defence and the Army Headquarters.
