Government Information Department announced that all staff involved in petroleum distribution must report to work with immediate effect as it is now an essential service.

The government sources said action would be initiated against workers who fail to comply with the request.

Meanwhile, the Army Spokesman said Army drivers would be deployed this morning to distribute oil across the country.

He said the security has been beefed up in Sapugaskanda and Kerawalapitiya petroleum storages.
