CID Launches Investigations Into Aloysius' Media Network: Probe On If Bond Money Was Used To Set Up Media Company

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has now launched investigations into the functioning of the Integrated Media Network, owned by Perpetual Holdings belonging to controversial businessman Arjuna Aloysius.

The Integrated Media Network is the publisher of Janayugaya daily and Sunday newspapers.

The investigation is being done in connection with the Presidential Commission’s inquiry into the Treasury Bonds issue.

Highly placed Police sources said the CID had obtained financial and account details and accounts reports of the media company, started by Aloysius, last year.

The investigations have been commenced to ascertain how the money of the Perpetuual Treasuries, the company involved in the bond controversy, was used to start the media business.

The findings of the CID investigations, they said, would be presented before the three member Presidential Commission inquiring into the Bond issue.
