"Satellite In The Sky Cannot Be Viewed With Magnifying Glass": Rohitha Says SL Did Not Spend A Cent For His Satellite

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa's youngest son, Rohitha Rajapaksa yesterday said a satellite stationed in the sky cannot be viewed with a magnifying glass - as suggested by some government ministers.

He made these remarks while speaking to media after giving a statement to the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID).

Rajapaksa was questioned today by the FCID over the Supreme SAT satellite project of which Rajapaksa was the chief engineer.

"They asked me about the satellite project and how the funds came in," Rajapaksa explained.

"Sri Lanka did not spend a cent for this project. It was a Singaporean investor who invested money and the project was done by a Chinese company," he added.

"We went ahead with the project as that was what Sri Lanka needed," Rajapaksa said.
