The Elections Commission has said that it has observed a decrease in the number of registered voters in the Colombo city and the Colombo district.

It has asked residents to check if their names are on the finalized 2017 voters lists that was published on the website www.elections.gov.lk today.

At the last election there were 1,586,598 registered voters in 15 polling divisions in the Colombo city and Colombo districts.

These were the areas of Colombo North, Central, East, West, Borella, Dehiwela, Ratmalana, Kolonnawa, Kotte, Kaduwela, Avissawella, Homagama, Maharagama, Kesbewa and Moratuwa.
