Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council Approves 20th Amendment To The Constitution: Two More Provinces Left To Decide

The Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council this morning approved the 20th Amendment to the Constitution, which seeks to hold all provincial council polls on one day.

Accordingly, 29 members voted for the 20th Amendment to the Constitution while 8 voted against.

In passing the 20th Amendment to the Constitution, the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council joins the Eastern and Western provinces that voted to pass the 20th Amendment to the Constitution.

The Northern, Uva and Southern Provincial Councils have voted against the 20th Amendment to the Constitution, leaving the North Western and Central Provincial Council to decide.
