Former Petroleum Industries Deputy Minister and former Chairman of the Development Lotteries Board (DLB) Sarana Gunawardene was further remanded till October 2 by the Colombo Fort Magistrate today.

Gunawardene is charged under the Public Property Act for having misused a state-owned vehicle while he was Chairman of the DLB, causing a loss of Rs. 8 million to the government.

He was arrested by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) on September 4.
