Former Navy Spokesperson Commodore D.K.P. Dassanayake Further Remanded Till October 20

Former Navy Spokesperson Commodore D.K.P. Dassanayake has been further remanded till October 20, by the Colombo Fort Magistrates’ Court.

The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the Police arrested Dassanayake on July 12 for aiding and abetting the abduction and disappearance of 11 youth in 2008 and 2009.

Five others who were also arrested with the former Navy Spokesperson were also remanded till October 20.

Commodore D.K.P. Dassanayake served as Spokesperson for the Navy during the country’s civil war.
