‘Sri Lanka Must Remain Vigilant About Polio’: President Maithripala Sirisena Tweets On World Polio Day

President Maithripala Sirisena, in a tweet issued on World Polio Day that falls today, said that Sri Lanka must remain vigilant about polio.

‘We achieved the goal of polio eradication, but we must be vigilant always,’ the President tweeted.

The last case of polio was reported 1993 and both the UNICEF and the WHO have declared Sri Lanka as polio-free.
