Shalila Moonasinghe, Janaka Chaminda Nammuni Remanded Till November 6 Over Taiwan Far Eastern Bank Heist

Former Litro Gas Chairman Shalila Moonasinghe and another accused - Janaka Chaminda Nammuni, were today re-remanded until November 6 by the Fort Magistrates’ Court.

The two are held on charges relating to a heist of $ 60 million from the Taiwan Far Eastern Bank – the bank was hacked into and money wired to several foreign accounts.

Janaka Chaminda Nammuni was arrested as he was trying to withdraw Rs. 80 million that had been wired to his account from the Taiwan Far Eastern Bank.

Shalila Moonasinghe was arrested on October 9 for his complicity in the Taiwan Far Eastern Bank hacking.
