President Sirisena Says Real Sri Lanka Is Different From the Sri Lanka Seen Through Internet

Sri Lankan community in Qatar said they were pleased with the correct path Sri Lanka has taken under the leadership of President Maithripala Sirisena. 

They made these observations when they met the President in Doha on Wednesday. 

A large number of Sri Lankans working in many fields in Qatar were present when the President met the Sri Lankan community.

Speaking at the meeting the President said the current government was committed to build a prosperous and better country for the future generation. 

"We are ready to face in challenge in the process," he added. 

The President, commenting on the false information on some websites misusing freedom and democracy in the country, said the real Sri Lanka was different from the Sri Lanka seen through the internet.

The President further said that even though the modern technology was for the betterment of the people, some elements used it to tarnish the real image of the motherland.

"The present government has built a good political environment in Sri Lanka. With the concept of good governance and many social and economic changes take place in the country," he said.   

The President apprised the Sri Lankan community living in Qatar regarding the proposed new constitution.
