Duleep Wijeysekera Sits With Joint Opposition In Parliament After Being Sacked Yesterday

Former Post and Postal Services Deputy Minister Duleep Wijeysekera, who was removed from his position by the President yesterday, joined the Joint Opposition (JO) in Parliament this morning.

President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday removed the Post and Postal Services Deputy Minister from his ministerial position, making him the second Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Minister to be removed. 

In September, the President removed Tourism and Christian Religious Affairs Deputy Minister Arunindika Fernando from his position following the former Deputy Ministers public criticism of party decisions.
