President Visits Family Of Pandit Amaradeva One Year After His Death: Meets With Widow And Son

President Maithripala Sirisena on Friday (November 3) visited the family of late music maestro Pandit W. D. Amaradeva mark his one-year remembrance.

The President held cordial discussions with Pandit W. D. Amaradeva’s widow Vimala Amaradeva and son Ranjana Amaradeva.

Pandit Amaradeva passed away the Sri Jayawardenapura Hospital at the age of 88 on November 3 2016.

He was the recipient of numerous awards including the Philippine Ramon Magsaysay Award (2001), Indian Padma Sri Award (2002) and Sri Lanka's President's Award of Kala Keerthi (1986) and also the Deshamanya Award (1998).
