International Goodwill Will Be Used To Build A Better Future For Children – President

President Maithripala Sirisena says the government uses the international assistance for Sri Lanka, gained through a good and friendly foreign policy for the development of the country and to build a better future for the children.

The President made these remarks at the ceremony to open the new Administrative Unit of Deiyandara National School in Matara yesterday. 

The President who arrived at the school was warmly welcomed by the students. He opened the new building by unveiling the plaque.

Speaking further, President Sirisena said the current government is fulfilling its responsibilities to build a prosperous country by strengthening of the country’s economy, as well as by providing a better education for the children.

“We should create a strong intellectual base to take the country towards the development. The current government is fulfilling a task which no government had performed before to strengthen the free education”, he emphasized.

Ministers Mahinda Amaraweera, Faizer Mustafa, the Chief Minister of the Southern Province Shan Vijayalal de Silva and the principal of the school Mr. W. W. Amarasena were among those participated in this occasion.

Meanwhile, the development projects carried out in the Mulatiyana and Deiyandara areas in the Matara district were also vested with the public by the President today.

The new office building and the New Multi-Purpose Building for the Mulatiyana Pradeshiya Sabha constructed under the Pura Neguma Project by the Ministry of Provincial Councils & Local Government in connection with the Southern Provincial Council was also declared open by the President Maithripala Sirisena. This is a four storied building built at a cost of Rs. 110 million to provide a comprehensive service to the public. 

The President also opened the four-storey Sanansa Bank building complex in Deiyandara, Matara.

This new bank complex has been constructed with all the facilities under the guidance of the Department of Co-operative Development, with the aim of providing an extensive consumer service.  

President Sirisena unveiling the Commemorative Plaque opened the new bank complex, and the first transaction of the Bank made by the President.

The President also presented mementoes to Dr. P. A. Kiriwandeniya, Chairman SANASA Federation and Matara District SANASA Federation President M.G. Sunilkantha.

The President of the SANASA Mulatiyana Society,H.P.D.Chandrasiri presented a special memento to the President Maithripala Sirisena.

Ministers Mahinda Amaraweera, Faizer Mustapha, State Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, Chief Minister of the Southern Province Shan Wijayalal De Silva, public servants including the Matara District Secretary participated on this occasion.
