Indian Premier Responds To Sri Lanka Petrol Crisis: Ship With 21, 000 kl of Petrol Leaves For Sri Lanka

As a result of a telephone conversation between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Maithripala Sirisena, a ship bearing 21, 000 kl of Petrol has left for Sri Lanka from India.

Responding to President Sirisena’s call for emergency petrol shipments Indian Premier Modi assured Sri Lanka that India would extend all possible assistance; additional fuel is made available at the Kochi refinery and more petrol shipments are available if needed.

The Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC) has also made available 3500 kl of petrol immediately from its own stocks to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC).
