State Minister of Labor and Trade Union Relations Ravindra Samaraweera was caught on video yesterday telling an unknown person to go and place bids for a tender at the Foreign Employment Ministry.

Forgetting that he was sitting in front of a host of mics and video cameras the State Minister can be heard telling someone on the phone to go and meet a ‘Indrajit Wijeysuriya’ – a Minister’s Secretary who had been briefed on the matter.

“I have spoken to the Minister,” he can be heard saying. “They have called for tenders, quickly put in a bid.”

“Go and meet Indrajit Wijeysuriya, the Minister’s Secretary, he has been briefed on the matter.”

“Go to her Ministry, the Foreign Employment Ministry,” he says impatiently to the person on the phone.

“Go and meet Indrajit Wijeysuriya and give me a call,” he advises the person before putting down the phone.
