Petroleum Corporation Officials File Case With CID Over SMS’s Spreading Rumours Of Petrol Crisis

November 20, 2017

Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) officials have filed a case with the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) of the Police over SMS messages that are being spread regarding an impending petrol crisis.

The CPC officials asked the CID to work swiftly to bring the perpetrators to book in order to stem the rumour causing panic among the public.

The Petroleum Resources Ministry last evening confirmed there was no petrol shortage and urged the public not to panic.

They also set up a hotline – 0115455130 – for the public to report any shortages they may be experiencing at petrol stations across the island.
