Ajith P. Perera Writes To Bond Commission Seeking Opportunity For Representation

November 20, 2017

Power and Renewable Energy Deputy Minister Ajith P. Perera has written to the Presidential Commission of Inquiry investigating the Treasury bond issue asking that he be given an opportunity to make a representation to the Commission.

Referring to evidence of calls made from former Perpetual Treasuries Director Arjun Aloysius’s phone to several members of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE), Perera denied having ever spoken to Aloysius.

Writing on behalf of Deputy Minister Perera, his attorney Manjula Balasuriya said: ‘My client categorically states that he has not had any conversation with Mr. Arjun Aloysius on the bond issue.’

'He further states he is not acquainted with Mr. Aloysius in any manner whatsoever and has never met Mr. Aloysius.'
