Sri Lanka Cricket To Achieve Captains On Tour-By-Tour Basis: Five ODI Captains Already In 2017

November 30, 2017
Sri Lanka Cricket CEO Ashley de Silva has said the Sri Lanka national cricket team will appoint captains on a tour-by-tour basis in the future.
This controversial remark has come under criticism from many a cricket lover, including former Sri Lankan Captain Mahela Jayewardena who asked how the Sri Lankan cricket can achieve consistency and continuity with a decision like that.
The remark came soon after appointing Thisara Perera as the Captain of the Sri Lankan ODI and T20 teams for the series against India.
Perera is Sri Lanka's fifth ODI captain in 2017.
Sri Lanka has failed to win a single limited overs match in two successive tournaments against India and Pakistan. Before that, Sri Lanka, for the first time, lost a one day series to Zimbabwe.
