'Take Every Possible Step To Provide Relief To Victims:' President Directs From Korea

President Maithripala Sirisena has directed all relevant government officials to take every possible action to provide relief to the victims of the current adverse weather conditions.

The President, who is on a three days state visit to South Korea, telephoned the Minister of Disaster Management and the Secretary to the President today and directed them to deploy tr- forces for relief activities.

He also instructed them to quickly commence operations to help fishermen who have been affected by the prevailing adverse weather condition.

The government will also pay compensation to families victimised by inclement weather.
