The discussions between railway trade unions and President's Secretary Austin Fernando ended without a concrete decision last night. 

The discussions were held at the residence of the President's Secretary and the trade unions said they would continue with the union action. 

The main demand of the railway unions is to resolve their salary anomalies. 

As a result of the trade union action, most of the railway operations have come to a grinding halt. 

Although the unions held several discussions with the government authorities since the commencement of the strike, none of them produced positive results.
