Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa started the Sri Lanka Podujana Permuna's election campaign for the Colombo Municipal Council election. 

The Parliamentarian said during the campaign they would go from house to house convincing the public of the need to vote for the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna. 

"Kicked off the #SriLanka Podujana Peramuna campaign for the Colombo Municipal Council election. Going house-to-house to understand the people’s problems. We are committed to continuing the Colombo development that @PresRajapaksa started and this government stopped," Rajapaksa tweeted. 

A sizable section of the SLPJ candidates list for Colombo MC election are members of the Podijana Peramuna Youth wing. Among them is Mahinda Kahandagamage, 65 year old former Colombo MC member, who represented the party at a global youth event recently.
