Pandemonium Reigns After PM Concluded His Speech: Fistfight Reported In House: Opposition MP Throw Object At PM

A Pandemonium reigned in Parliament as Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe concluded his speech on the Presidential Commission on the bond issue. 

Deputy Minister Harsha de Silva said an opposition members threw an object at the Prime Minister while the latter was delivering his speech. 

De Silva accused Opposition MP Gamini Lokuge of starting the fight. "I am told never in history had there been a brawl in Chamber like the one just now," he tweeted.

Parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra said Lokuge hit Marikkar and that was how "everything started". 

"As a young Parliamentarian, I am ashamed of the behavior of our MPs," she said.

As the situation turned worse after the conclusion of the speech, the Speaker concluded the Parliamentary sessions for 10 minutes. 

However, after Parliament was concluded, a fistfight was also reported. Many MPs were seen rushing to the well of the House.
