Parliamentarian Kavinda Jayawardena has been taken for medical treatment following a brawl in Parliament, a short while ago. 

Sources within the House confirmed that the UNP MP was taken to the medical centre in Parliament by his fellow MPs. 

There had been a heated argument between him and some Joint Opposition MPs who threw books and documents at Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe while the latter was delivering a statement in the House. 

MP Sirisena Jayakody was seen among  those who got involved in a fight with Jayawardena.
