The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) has boycotted the party leaders meeting convened at the Presidential Secretariat today to discuss the report of the Presidential Commission on the Treasury Bonds issue.

JVP Propaganda Secretary Vijitha Herath said th party boycotted the meeting as it was "pointless.'

He said the Bond Commission report should be discussed in Parliament where representatives of the public sit. "We don't see a need to hold a party leaders meeting at the Presidential Secretariat," the JVP MP explained.

He also pointed out that instead of convening party leaders meeting at the Presidential Secretariat, the President's Secretary should be summoned before Parliament to seek explanation on issuing contradictory statements on the bond commission report.
